Imperfections arise when there are limitations in the design and construction of things. I embrace these quirks and anomalies which present themselves during this learning process.
A great example of this philosophy comes from architecture in the brutalist style where concrete is used for its raw and unpretentious characteristics. Brutalism exposes a building’s functions and imperfections.
This method best describes my design approach. I want the audience to understand that they are experiencing something that is designed. Rather than concealing the hand of the designer, I prefer the honest exposure of formal structure and intent.
